What is Dry Eye Disease?

TFOS definition: “Dry eye is a multifactorial disease of the tears and ocular surface that results in symptoms of discomfort, visual disturbance, and tear film instability with potential damage to the ocular surface.

It is accompanied by increased osmolarity of the tear film and inflammation of the ocular surface.”

IRPL with E-Eye® technology

The E-EYE® is a polychromatic pulsed light generator capable of producing perfectly calibrated and homogeneous light pulse sequences. The sculpted pulses are released in the form of pulse trains whose distance, energy, and spectrum are precisely determined to stimulate the Meibomian glands and restore them to normal functioning.

Leading technology to treat meibomian gland dysfunction.

E-EYE® treatment takes only a few minutes.

The eyes are covered with protective eyecups.

Hydrogel is applied on the lower eyelids.

A series of light pulses are delivered around the lower part of the eye to the skin, gently and non-invasively to both eyes.

Frecuency

For optimal results, a session is performed on day 1, day 15, and day 45; day 75 is optional in case of severe dry eye.

Results

From the first session, you will feel an improvement.

The dry lipid layer receives a natural lipid boost, which reduces tear fluid evaporation and prevents the eye from drying out.

The quality of glandular secretions is improved, and the lipid layer of the tear film is stabilized.

The results last a minimum of 6 months to 3 years; it is recommended to repeat an application once the symptoms return.

Other treatments

Our VisiPlug® occlusion therapy product line includes soluble and non-soluble punctual plugs. They effectively treat dry eyes by preserving good quality, naturally lubricating tears on the eye's surface.

Step by step.

The procedure takes a few minutes.

Plugs are inserted into the upper or lower tear ducts, choosing from a variety of plugs.

Once inserted, the plugs have no sensation, and they will help maintain the tear longer. It is crucial to promote good tear quality.
